Toastmasters is a wonderful, cost effective way to practice
speaking in front of a group. You can move as quickly or as
slowly as you like. You work with manuals that give you step-by-step
pointers on organizing your speaking style, controlling nervousness,
and increasing the impact of your speech. You speak before
a supportive audience and receive immediate, constructive
feedback. Toastmasters is a bargain that you can't pass up!
Please join us for our next meeting on any Monday and think
about joining the club!
Remember, Toastmasters is a great New Year's resolution any
time of the year!
The Basic Manual is the starting
point for all Toastmasters. Once you have this resource in
your hands you will be ready to begin your path to effective
communication.
As you review the Basic Manual, you will see, all ten projects
are wide open for you to choose a topic that fits the objectives.
Even if you pick a controversial subject, Toastmasters will
evaluate you on how well you presented your subject, not on
whether they agreed with you or not. Once you complete your
first ten speeches, and are awarded your Competent Toastmaster
status, then you can move on to more advanced speeches (ATM
Manuals), continuing towards your goal of becoming a Distinguished
Toastmaster (DTM). So, the learning continues!
