The modules include:

Q:  What is your current job and responsibilities at Gannett Fleming?
A:  I work for Corporate Data Resources (CDR) as a Deputy Project Manger and am responsible for the corporate resume system and corporate project profiles.  I’m also working with Kate Berrigan, Manager of the CDR group on the “new” Project Data System with rollout to occur mid-November.

Q:  How long have you been in Toastmasters and what leadership positions have you held?

A:  Ten years. I have been VP Public Relations, VP Education (three times), President – the club was President’s Distinguished that year, Area Governor, Division G Governor for two years – both years the Division was President’s Distinguished.

Q:  What are some of the benefits of being involved in Toastmasters at the Area, Division, and District levels?

A:  At the area level you become directly involved with the clubs because you are responsible for visiting the clubs and making recommendations for club growth and improvements.  At the Division and District level you have the opportunity to improve your leadership skills.  At all levels you meet new Toastmasters and experience the differences in club meetings.

Q:  Who's one of your favorite speakers?

A:  My favorite Toastmaster speaker would have to be Dr. Dilip and public speaker would currently be Barrack Obama!!!

Officer Meeting Notes:

New Business

  • Dino gave a status on the membership renewals. We currently have 17 members.
  • We discussed whether or not to change the current Toastmaster meeting schedule. With no speeches scheduled for the next two meetings, we decided to change the schedule to bi-weekly. When demand for giving speeches increases to a level that can’t be accommodated through the three speeches time slots, we will switch back to weekly meetings.
  • The newsletter schedule is being changed to bi-monthly. A newsletter will be sent this month.
  • Ellis Ann has made up a schedule for the Better Speaker series. Delivery of the speeches will begin on November 24.

Upcoming events:

  • November 21-22, District 38 Fall Conference, Desmond in Malvern, PA
  • November 22, District 38 Table Topics and Humorous Speech Contest, Desmond in Malvern, PA
